Where Did Some Bloggers/Youtubers Go?

Does anybody else ever feel worried when a blogger or youtuber hasn't updated in months, esp. since they update at least once every 2-3 weeks? I'm starting to get worried about some of them (i won't mention names unless somebody does in the comment page), I sort of have this unsettling feeling about it, that something is wrong. Does anybody else feel this way or has felt this way?

  1. YES! I miss Shawnta!! I feel the same way, then I get to thinking people have lives, family, jobs, and everyday stress and don't always have time or want to update a blog. I just hope that they know that their blogs are a great inspiration to their readers and that they are missed!!

  2. Thank you for mentioning Shawnta drrph. She hasn't updated her youtube, blog, or fotki when usually she's on top of it. Sometimes I just think the worst...but like you said, people do have lives and don't always have the time to update, which is fine of course, but it still makes me worry esp. when it has been months or close to a year, and when they don't mention that they are on hiatus.

  6. I'm glad that I'm not the only one concerned about shawnta, I hope she's okay...

I don't expect anybody to update their blog or youtube channel every day, not even every month, but still. It might seem silly, but in a way you get really attached to these bloggers/youtubers by watching their videos, which inspires us all, and when you sense or feel that something is wrong, or notice that they have been absent for months, it's like you are losing a friend.

  7. Yes, I do miss alot of them. But, I do wish we can try to support the newer blogs so they won't go MIA.

I wonder what I can do to get more support and to help out?

  8. Yes, that's true rmcandlelight. I was a new blogger only awhile ago, usually people are very willing and quick to read your blog and to take part in it, it just takes some time and patience. Maybe what we can do is maybe give a shout-out to the newest most recent blogger on the block? :)

  10. @ rmcandlelight & ness

I think promoting new bloggers/YouTubers is a great idea.

Not to take anything away from the veterans but I remember what it was like starting out on YT.
Sometimes it seems like you're simply entertaining yourself lol

Let me know what you come up with ;-)

  12. @rmcandlelight- yes her locks are looking great! even though she doesn't consider herself a freeformer since she does retwist once in awhile, the freeform "look" looks great on her! :)

  13. @ nappy headed black girl: I think the best thing to do for support is to make comments on all your followers blogs so you won't feel like you're entertaining yourself :)

If you see a new blog follow it and welcome the new blogger :)

I personally don't mind if someone makes a comment and leave there blog name. Some people don't like it but that's how I find new blogs. What do ya'll think about this?

  14. I think that's probably the best way to do it. If i were to give a shout-out to their new blog/youtube channel on my blog I'd ask for their permission first, just to be polite ;).

Sounds good. I do periodically stop by all my blog subscribers' pages and comment or see how they're doing. I also respond to all comments.

I have many more subscribers to my YT channel so it's a bit harder to keep up with, but I always thank new subscribers and check out their videos when I can.

As for leaving their blog name...I'm torn. Every comment system these days allows you to click on the username and be taken to that person's page. So leaving your blog name also seems like overkill.

Plus, my blog actually captures the title of your last post and displays it; there's no need for anything extra.
